Last year I rescued this sick bird on the road, fed it, gave it water and nursed it back to health. At first I thought it was hit by a car, but no, it's wings were fine. It was sick, could not fly, but otherwise healthy.
It would just hop around on the ground and fly like a meter or so, then get tired and land.
I would grab it and put it up on a roost for night time so no predators would get at it.
It took about 2 weeks of feeding and watering and roosting and then one day he was gone. I figured it was male due to the birds physical size being large.
Named him Scooter cus he would scoot on the ground.
Well, a week went by and guess who came back begging for food, lol. yup, scooters been a wild pet bird ever since. He will leave for months and then come back. He will sit at my window waiting for food then swoop down and land on my hand.
A year has gone by and now he's brought a mate with him.
He just showed up at my window with her, lol, I grabbed some bird food and he will still eat out of my hand. His mate won't tho. lol
so funny. she just sits there looking at me and says no fucking way. lol
