I'm torn, they are legitimately a resource for people to terrorize others into suicide and other maladaptive developments upon the mentally disabled, but I also have appreciated the OPs. The cases they write are interesting, the logs they keep on their activity are interesting to observe, but we can't deny that their actions end up feeding those who'd attack such people and that as much as the website aims to be in denial over it that a significant amount of their userbase does these attacks while pretending to be above it.
They are kind of like if this website had the power to become even worse, which I both respect and at points dislike. Like I support them being horrible to a certain degree, but I can't deny that it's them being bad people under the guise of moralism.
The way this is hitting Cloudflare is also questionable, should politics affect their content?
if the metaphorical iron were ever hot to strike them, it would be now in this environment of ever-broadening inclusivity that simultaneously entertains belligerent ostracism. of course kf will muddy their intentions to try and maintain optics, and appeal to a philosophical concept of a space of free exchange of ideas. none of that really matters, though. my predictions:
- cloudflare will drop kiwifarms, there's too much stuff that looks to the public like "they made this person commit suicide" or whatever for PR to spin the fighters for freedom angle
- kf will survive, as there are surely many people that live on the site who also work in tech. the site will become more toxic in a reactionary way, and they'll have to do something innovative to counteract ddos, maybe use decentralized hosting
- as the alternative "toxic" parts of the net are increasingly suppressed, they will find means of subversion. bitchute is an example of one of the first steps toward this. we also see other people venturing in this direction, such as nick fuentes with his cozy.tv, trump's (failed) truth social. these moves are stabs in the dark, but also the first motions of a fight back against a virtue culture that isn't going anywhere. andrew tate might make an interesting move soon, given that he was mass deplatformed right as he was blowing up mainstream. but he also rose to fame on charisma more than making the right moves, so we'll see
being torn is not logical. sometimes, something can be good in one way and bad in another. actually, i would argue to one degree or another all things are.
it just is what it is and if you enjoy it in the way you do you enjoy it.
literally anything even if bad, can be used as a source to learn. fuck, hitlers manifesto could even be an example, as it is a piece of history. and im jewish and i have read the damb thing! and i learned a lot of things about human nature and people that i would have never understood had i not.
things dont always have to be all good or all bad, again, a thing can be a part of internet/global history, AND be bad.
if you are really a member of kiwi farms, you can slowly change the group over time in subtle ways, making it better rather than throwing it all away. you can for example, fins LOL cows that are transphobic and use them as a bad example. and if you cant change their minds- fuck even the founding fathers were racist assholes in a way.
you should understand this, you say you are on sc for educational reasons all the time, and we all know this place isnt sunshine and rainbows, is it?
yeah, the kiwi farms people are in general fucking assholes, i think we know that by now. however, a person does not have to be good or bad, to do good or bad things, nor a group of people. kiwi farms? it does both. for example it exposes pedophiles and bullies the disabled. and chris chan was my friend for a while.
Oh shit they did it.
