Consider the possibility they won't -- for whatever their reason(s).  Then what?

You claim to have gained this freedom, yet keep trying to throw it away.  Decide for yourself what's best, and maybe trust some (consistent and sane) advice, once in a while, but you're doing this all to yourself in the face of all indications that it's unhealthy.

Really though, if this dude's trolling you then what reason does he have to do anything nice for you?
