2. Specifically Firm belief based upon confidence in the authority and veracity of another, rather than upon one's own knowledge, reason, or judgment; earnest and trustful confidence: as, to have faith in the testimony of a witness; to have faith in a friend.

3. In a more restricted sense: In theology, spiritual perception of the invisible objects of religious veneration; a belief founded on such spiritual perception.

See I'd rather trust something on the laurels of my knowledge, reason, and experience so that I can make proper judgements. 

Show me results and I will believe the results.

I have faith, but I have them in more rigorous things generally from experience, like having faith in people. 

Past a point of Existentialism it becomes clear that everything requires some level of faith, as we cannot even prove we exist, but we can still respect the rigor that went behind it, the effort they put into it in conjunction with laws cobbled by our history and methods (science, philosophy, psychology, etc). 

In less worlds it's a Worldly Faith. Even when shown results there is still some level of faith in believing them. You however don't seem to feel the need to prove things within any reasonable measure.
