 Do you not realize that making nearly everyone mod was PR? Not only that, but Trypt also anticipated some retard would nuke the server afterwards. Having the server nuked by somebody he "trusted" further scaled up the PR move.

The damage caused by koloss aka the server nuker was all reversed in matter of minutes, minus the bit of not important chat logs that were lost. It's not like much chat history was lost considering it was nuked just yesterday, it was a small sacrifice to make.

Trypt has proven to be open minded to the community by pulling what he did, this won him people who'd rather post in his server than Tony's i.e. Sugar's de facto server. Trypt has outplayed Sugar and the majority of users are on his side now for certain.

Sometimes, waiting and doing nothing means likely defeat. It's usually but not always the desired outcome if you only stick to the handbook.

A group of persons who collaborated with each other were outplayed by only 1 person. Very interesting performance of Trypt, we're like on the same level of playing people like instruments.

I dunno, I think it mars an aspect of his more outward reputation (judgement). By having himself in a higher position where he was expected to judge who should and shouldn't have power, it to the naked eye shows him to have a poor judge of character and their mistakes are by loose extension also his. While not really a thing that'd do any real damage after one time, this many times has established the expectation by having it become an expected pattern. If people want to be in a server where the history won't be nuked on the regular and mod tools won't be used/abused by poor choices, then continuing to stick with this model is not productive for them. By trying to say that this is an aspect of Discord he also tries to separate himself and the mods at fault from having to take any responsibility over it by instead de-elevating it's perceived importance. 

Outward reputation though seems oddly quick to fix with the currently fashionable pretense of wanting to "move on" being a little too in style, so the damages of it are likely to become easy to overlook without any real consequence. If it was for some weird PR behind the scenes shit it could be argued to be a case where there'd be more gains to stand from it than losses (especially if he stops trying to run a server), but I don't have any real basis or proof to mull over for how much of it was about undercover PR boosting versus loosely making the same mistake over and over. The latter answer as is at least reflects what portions of it affect myself (like how CC no longer has an SC tab after all of this happened) and it's the simpler answer, so that's closer to where my gaze fixes until otherwise is made clear to me. 

The ones trying to drag down his reputation seem to be just Spatial and Sugar, so I figure he'll be more than fine beyond the whole "nuked" thing. Spatial just says his two cents while Sugar's traction is small and otherwise prone to high turnover rates, and Tryp's "It's just Discord" shift away from really trying to build a successful server is likely to be taken positively by those around him's Safety In Apathy aims. His established online persona's apathy by design is a passive disarm against reputation attacks below a certain threshold, as people'd rather ingroup with the guy who wants to appear above it than the one doing scathingly opportunistic reputation attacks to the degree of their own character decay following. Even Tryp's jumping into the confrontation with a clearly ironic threat was the perfect way to negate how judgy that their tones tried to make it otherwise seem. 

trypt is PR god, not even ed comes close because trypt voice chats, spends more time with the community, more likable, less bitchy, open minded, etc. crypto nigger/suckers side didnt stand a chance, interesting coup attempt though

sugar should just fuck off back to her asylum with her small feminist clique xd she's been trying to convert people to her discord clique since loona lost her shit and took down the site, she sees that as an open window to do so

Yeah... even the people that actively don't like him have many times ended up repeating the things he says or otherwise falling prey to being exposed to his words. He's only been comically sloppy online 1-on-1 a few times from what people have shown me, yet even then he knows how to roll with it and somehow still seem like he's worth being treated with respect through being an active listener who saves his laundry list of judgements for once he feels that they've crossed him (assuming he doesn't just ghost them over making him feel pushed) and otherwise working behind the scenes. 

The internet has proven to be a very nice medium for him.

She was at it before Luna shut down the website too, but she clearly identifies with and misses SC as much as she feels reason to stay logged out of here.
