A form of covert narcissistic abuse where the narcissist will include others in a group to smear and belittle another based on falsehoods, or situations where the concept of victimhood is blown out of proportion. This sometimes happens shortly before a narcissist intends to discard someone for some reason. The Flying Monkeys themselves are usually in a position where they have admiration for the abuser, and not only buy what they're told at face value, but will be enraged and turn on the narcissist's target as intended.

The Flying Monkey themselves balance on a thin line between abuse and reward, as they themselves fear abandonment by the covert narcissist.

They call it a phenomenon but it's obvious to me as to why this happens. The grass simply doesn't look greener on the other side, so the flying monkey finds comfort in what's really more of a codependency.

Some shit I found online said:
"Codependency is a behavioral condition in a relationship where one person enables another person's addiction, poor mental health, immaturity, irresponsibility, or under-achievement. Among the core characteristics of codependency is an excessive reliance on other people for approval and a sense of identity."

There is some of that going on with the flying monkey as they are generally people of poor mental health and immaturity which is why they are easily controlled by the covert narcissist.

Some experts believe the Flying monkey in some cases enable the covert narcissist's behavior, which might actually be true to a degree considering how the monkey is more than willing to take the initiative to belittle and destroy the target in an effort to please their programmer.

.

Personally I've seen a lot of this going on around here where people will bend to an abusers will and be the flying monkey. Take some of you for example, still having a firm belief that I'm a narcissist while Vard used to have you on a string while he would call me out as one, as he'd kick, and scream and tremble in hatred.

Further research indicates that the Flying Monkey thing is 100% curable, but that depends if the subject themselves wake up and start to think for themselves. In some cases people claimed to once be a flying monkey until they got served.

Who knows. One day you might find yourself in a situation where people you enjoy being around, at the same time start turning sour on you, They will take even your sense of humor very seriously, and act accordingly. You'll identify it by the awkward passive aggressiveness that fills the air. At that point the subjects cannot be turned by the target, just, "you've been very bad." The best thing to do is remove yourself from the situation, and cut contact with the whole chain of friends. It will sting for a day or 2 depending on how mature you are mentally, but on the upside it goes away very quickly especially if you obtain knowledge on the matter. Then you'll find it's really nothing personal, nor is it the first time they as a group done such a thing.

While in the process of being belittled for questionable reasons which is often a false title given by the abuser, it's wise not to push back on the Flying Monkeys as your retaliation will then become proof to their thinking which lacks any critical evaluation.

Not everyone in the group will follow suit and do the monkey thing, but their silence on the matter can be for many more admirable reasons.

For Med Fans.....

Do I think she's been a hot topic around here because of some other person ? No. Her wounds are self inflicted, yet at the same time she doesn't detach herself from the continuing toxicity she finds here which can be a lighter example of not detaching oneself from abusive environments geared to belittle and destroy a target.

.

Not the best report on the subject, but one of the shorter ones.

Personally, I consider myself the most powerful SC member. Mentally. This is my opinion and I believe it. Everyone seems weak to me
