One bright Summer morning in Spring, 2012 I was being lazy at home and my mom mentioned she saw an ad to some new Sherlock Holmes series, set in modern day, on TV.
I am fond of detective genre and like watching Poirot, Miss Marpl and such but modern day Sherlock? Are we really out of ideas this much we are making such remakes now? This seems incredibly silly but I got nothing better to do so I will google about it. Blog post about modern Sherlock being a sociopath.. what even is a sociopath? Guess I have to read and find out.. And this is how my journey begun.
The series were pretty intriguing and catchy but not as intriguing as the Sociopath World Blog, created by M.E. Thomas who kept producing one article after another, feeding me information I never knew I needed. Sociopathy as a whole was pretty hip back in the day due to quite a hype through series like BBC's Sherlock, Dexter and others, so the blog was well received and had many readers as well as a vastly used comment section.
Admittedly, some of the things M.E. Thomas wrote about hit close to dome and after reading the blog daily for a month or two I began feeling a desire to contribute. I had nothing to comment on, however, and no idea of what my username should even be, so I borrowed the author's name and turned it into Mee. Then I started to help various self-proclaimed sociopath wannabes in their path of self diagnosis and started copying them as well, thus creating my own sociopathy. I have to say that I loved it. I was creating a personality I never had before and trolls did not know what to do with me as they had no angles of attack. I remember telling this Blog veteran UKan "I do not care about your opinion, I value your experience" which he then said was gold. After finding out Dexter was used as synonym for wannabe, I started watching the series and put him as my profile picture to rill up the trolls and further disguise myself as wannabe, confusing everyone further and being able to add some truth to my performance and do some self analysis as well.
Self diagnosing is actually incredibly hard and pointless. For instance, I had a little habit of stealing toys from other people's houses. I had money to buy what I wanted in stores, so never needed to steal there but sometimes I would see some cool toy in friends room, which I have not seen anywhere to buy and if a moment struck, the toy would find its way into my pocket. Then I would forget about it and only remember when taking off my pants at home. It took me months to realise this is a decent piece of history while diagnosing myself as a sociopath as my consciousness has always been clean. I do not know how wannabes do this. They always seemed to make some solid connections as to why they are cold hearted manipulative schemers, while my most memorable contribution was describing how I cruely crushed ants I found in playground outside while feeling no remorse at all.
