Not really, I've actually argued that giving your split senses of self names grants it power and therefor a means of doing more in it's name rather than less.
It works as a form of distancing language that has the victim of it dissociate blame from the events, such as when someone blames demons possessing them for the things they've done. This comment shows that you know nothing about how IFS works, because actually this specific type of parts therapy heals dissociation
I'm responding more to how you portray IFS than IFS itself.
I am at the very beginning of the therapy, It takes time to gain the trust of all of your parts and then once you do that, the actual therapeutic process can begin and you can essentially heal PTSD All I know is that when I was at a treatment center in hollywood hills one of the lead therapists there and the trauma therapist that I have now have been able to talk me out of my most intense moments of panic and distress using IFS methods more than any other form of therapy, so now I am actually teaching myself how to do the therapy on myself without even needing a therapist because this is possible too but I am still continuing with my trauma therapist and I might even get an additional IFS therapist as well because I intend to see some major progress play out in my recovery over the next couple months I have this sense of like peace and knowing that my healing is coming finally
