I read that in a recent study, only 30% of people said they would. Thought that was interesting coz to me it seems like a non-question, why wouldn't you?
sounds good, but can imagine maybe a point where i'm literally done and bullets won't kill me, jumping off a cliff won't kill me, maybe someone can shoot me into a black hole or something. more realistically, i'd probably get high, maybe even take what should be lethal doses of drugs, probably eventually go insane
I used to be the dude who was like "Immortality would suck", but considering I'd have eternity to get over it I'm sure a sense of acceptance would have to happen eventually.

Most definitely. Being Immortal is basically owning more time to do anything you want without a rush. I would probably study so I would never get bored. Also chances of getting filfthy rich would be ridiculously big.

I think it's just immortality, but you would not become indestructible like a super hero.

So you could still blow your brains out or starve to death?
The dictionary definition is "unending life". That means not able to die. It doesn't mean you wouldn't be immune to pain, discomfort or other unpleasantness. What would possibly be a worst-case scenario is being left with regular healing capacities. It also says nothing about consciousness.
You could get to see how long the most grievous injuries would take to heal, like a head wound or losing an eye or something. If they ever heal. There's also the prospect you'd end up getting cancer over and over. Would you be stuck with diabetes forever? All kinds of fun stuff.
...Oh, I was wrong about worst-case scenario. Someone else may have alluded to the possibility. Imagine you may remain alive, but you still age. You would deteriorate forever. The only reprieve is that your brain might reach the point you'd no longer be aware of it.
