like I am kind of upset with Jesus about this so many of the stupid decisions that I have made in life were because "it feels good"
like what the heck ? :/
super upset that Jesus would not put immediate unpleasant consequences for indulging in activities that are harmful for ourselves and for other people
"freewill I want my creations to choose me" is really pissing me off presently like wow so that kind of selfish desire is worth having probably half of your creation burning in eternal hell torment forever ?
It seems so selfish to me
Because it is worldly, the world is full of all sorts of sensations worth perusing, among them pleasure.
However to be of God you are supposed to ignore them over how distracting they are, and a lot of faiths share this trait actually if not at least set lines. While it does not say to be completely devoid of pleasure, it does ask that you enjoy much simpler things.
I think about it sort of like comparing Water and Soda. Soda tastes better, but it's sugars and caffeine are addictive as it stimulates the senses to such a degree that smaller forms become muted and harder to enjoy, and ironically soda as a diuretic actually dehydrates you. To embrace pleasure is to eventually grow tolerant of it and then desire even further pleasure, and something like Soda pushes those limits beyond what is natural to the point of diminishment down the road.
Water by comparison is flavorless but much better for you, essential for survival and even present in Soda itself, but after enough Soda you begin to not want Water anymore over how it is devoid of the sensations you've grown to enjoy. In spite of this, a truly thirsty person will love water as a pleasure of it's own, but unlike soda it cannot be abused as readily and is enjoyed for what it naturally is.
I guess pleasure is addictive and demands escalation, so faiths that aim to escape that suffering and detach attempt to avoid pleasure altogether if not reduce it to small amounts being enough, like those who refuse certain kinds of food as to not become too tethered to the pleasures of this world.
Pleasure is also one of the hardest sensations to deny. You can grit through pain, you can calm yourself through anger, but pleasure is much more insidious. It is the tolerance that forms to it that makes us want more, inspiring a potentially slippery slope of larger risks in the name of it, and with it can come a yearning hunger, an appetite, that is of the mind and thereby the motivations.
The Reward Center of the brain is a demanding thing, and God for whatever reason would rather reward those who resist temptation than behave naturally.

We're capable of many things, but if everyone focused on pleasure it would affect our progress as a civilization.
What if Nikola Tesla snorted coke and banged hoes all day everyday ?
Or even people who contributed less to humanity, like our parents, playing Nintendo all day ?
Maybe some sins aren't really sins but rather losing control of our desires by letting them run wild is.
