Classic Karate Kid
The classic puts the remake to shame, as Community noticed during one of it's shitty seasons, Mr Miyagi stole the show:
Seriously, how the script for the reboot thought it'd make sense for Jackie Chan to tell Will Smith's son to 'Jacket Off' is a hilarious oversight, especially with Jackie Chan's accent making the 'e' sound a bit too close to an 'i' sound:
"Jack it off, remember, always strong. Jack it off... strong." 🤦
We could see through the acting how Jackie Chan really wasn't thrilled to play in that movie.
Hard to tell when he's also trying to play the role of Mr. Miyagi. It's not really a role that's built for his acting strengths, the guy's more experienced with physical slapstick and action stunts. That being said the script for the reboot was not good, it was not a good idea and he was clearly cast for the star power.
His acting in Forbidden Kingdom by comparison, while not the best movie, suited him more over the casting being more fitting.
