He does fantasize about those two a lot... that is kind of weird now that you mention it.
I wonder sometimes what it would be like inside of his head, but then I think that it would be very disturbing after too long in there :p
I tried to perspective take his issues a few times and I find it quite difficult. The guy's beliefs about the rules of reality don't conform to the usual structure so already you're having to imagine as if the world were quite different.
To him the individual has less value, rather they are seen as a collection of archetypes collaged together which he uses as 'common sense' shorthand for understanding them without putting in any real effort. He thinks that all people possess the ability to see the same truth and that 'Personal Truth' does not exist, but rather that people are either crazy or intentionally aiming to mislead those around them by twisting the wisdom ala Satan.
He otherwise is very prone to historical rewrites to live with himself, so imagine if you could just forget everything you hate that's happened to you in the blink of an eye, replaced with the most ideal version of events that'd let you hoist yourself onto a pedestal. At this point though his defense mechanisms are to the point of seeming Amnesia, so I'd say it's doing more harm than good for him.
You two have a few things in common, but when it comes to perceptions of reality you are more defensive over your beliefs over being that much more tethered to the real world.
