Autism isn't a disorder

It's a spectrum, and the deep end shit's worse than most disorders.

Some end up unable to communicate at all, some walk like raptors, some have sounds hurt them more than normal, others have problems with getting stuck on things, it doesn't look fun.

Not to mention extreme sensitivities to things like texture of food and clothing, hating things or people touching them, extreme ā€œstimulation overloadā€ especially in public settings sometimes resulting in debilitating frequent panic attacks or other ā€œoutburstā€ type behaviors that may result in harming themselves,  difficulty understanding identifying or conveying ones emotions much less controlling them…

These are just some of the struggles I’ve seen talked about. Obviously every individual experiences it differently. But.

I’ve seen some rarely report in more extreme scenarios a constant feeling of internal discomfort inside their skin? Sort of described as an internal sensory overload that is constant, and it varies what the physiological experience feels like but, from what I’ve heard, it all basically sounds like a form of torture

Oh yeah it's a fucking party, that with PTSD severe trauma from solitary confinement and being a lab rat combined with a damaged amygdala is a fucking cakewalk and a lovely time all it's own

Do I need some fucking happy pills? Maybe.

i'm not making fun of it, also don't be sensitive about it, it's good to have humor about the things we deal with and not make them verboten

i was just now looking for the best author i'd found on the topic, OLGA BOGDASHINA, best books i read on autism that take a scientific approach while being easy to follow, 1. Communication Issues in Autism and Asperger Syndrome: Do we speak the same language?, 2. Theory of Mind and the Triad of Perspectives on Autism and Asperger Syndrome: A View from the Bridge and 3. Sensory Perceptual Issues in Autism Different Sensory Experiences - Different Perceptual Worlds, haven't read anything other than those three. libgen.is is an illegal site for free books, do not use that

The joke implied I use my autism to get away with things and I don't and neither do most people with autism

Although thanks for the warning on Libgen, I most definitely will not be using it to get all the little house on the prairie books to read nonna in the hospital today

It was just something that popped into my head, wasn’t about anyone.
