Honestly the Luminous Mind seems like an easier way to handle them. While it doesn't cast them out it does trivialize their impacts. 

Supposedly, Buddha's acceptance of the laws of life had demons appear as but motes of light. While they were not gone they could not touch him in any way he could perceive, and thereby could not influence him in their directions as if deaf to them.
