In a video game, you might run into Easter eggs. These are references to other video game franchises or real life things hidden within a game; a little flourish by the designer. The classic example is this-
Here in Zelda OOT, you can see paintings of Mario characters in the window. Mario has nothing to do with Link and his quest. Indeed, that's a whole entire universe. But it's there nevertheless. But what if in this context, Mario was actually a fictional story written by a Hyrulian? And we, as the creators of this multiverse know that Mario is an existing character in another universe... But Link is confined within his small existence so all he sees is paintings of something that isn't within his realm. Sound familiar?
What if the works of art and fiction we see in this reality, much like those paintings in Hyrule castle, are actually subtle hints towards existing realities in other dimensions? Or perhaps, in the same universe? This is no less probable than the various other stories that humans have made to attempt to answer existential questions. I'd like to think that everything we see, we see for a reason. It has significance. Perhaps we cannot see it from the frame of mind this life forces us to be within, but it's out there.
In this scenario, perhaps dragons and magic are a thing on another planet. Whatever put us here and made all this probably has it in its power to hint at it. From the perspective of source, every moment of life from every living thing fits intricately into a grand and perpetual overall scheme. Energy comes, energy goes. It isn't created or destroyed. Perhaps when you are dispersed, you will consolidate your energy into the brain Gandolph in middle earth. Is it really that far fetched?
