Demisexuality is not asexuality, I'm sorry. Demisexuality is just being sexually attracted to people you have a bond with. That is not asexuality. Asexuality means you lack sexuality, having sexual attraction towards certain people is not that.Neither is greysexuality. You have sexuality rarely? Oh well, you still have sexuality, you are not asexual, and frankly a label isn't even needed for something like that.
Also in response to the guy who kissed the asexual person who "totally missed the point" no he didn't. Kissing is not the same as sex and it's not always sexual and plenty of asexuals kiss people
As far as the whole "umbrella" crap, I don't care what people say it is, you have sexual attraction then you are sexual, period.
No one will ever take asexuality seriously if you tack a bunch of crap onto it. Asexuality should mean you don't have sexual desire. Black and white, yes or no, period. The only reason this isn't what people like saying is because then a lot of people can't identify as asexual anymore, but making labels confusing like that helps no one. It shouldn't be a spectrum because it should mean you don't have something, you either do or don't, it's not complicated.
Asexuals have enough struggles as it is being accepted, without a bunch of hipsters trying to appropriate the term into nonsense so they can jump in on the bandwagon.
Do you have sexual desire? The answer is yes, no, or I do not know.
If you don't know, then we don't know you can't say your anything.
If you have sexual desire, you are not asexual, because you have sexual desire and that makes you sexual.
If you have no sexual desire at all, either you used to and something happened, or you never did, well, then you are asexual.
Sorry, but most people are not asexual.
That is why it is a sexual minority. Because a minority of people are asexual and the chances of being asexual are very slim, that is how this works.
