They're more spread throughout the deck to give me options for rushing past their defense. Ideally I just need a lens or two if not a Revenant and it starts taking off. It turns sacrifice into an X cost burn mechanic and it's surprisingly strong once each Snow-Swamp counts for additional. Tapping one swamp for like 9 mana gets insane. Add on top of that Black Market and Mortuary and dying doesn't really stop it.
These are all from my old high school/college deck, I basically had a flash form of attack and defense I could power up to respond to any threat and then could sacrifice them directly after for damage and life sustain. Unless fighting some blue deck shenanigans it did alright.
The deck that got really weird was my red coin flip deck. Working to have no Blue in it made for some strange choices:
All the creatures have coin flip effects too, and Planar Chaos locks everyone down.
