I'd also imagine that they're more likely to feel abused, and would be more prone to reporting such activities when compared to others who are more prone to internalizing if not justifying what they're going through to cope. This would definitely affect elements of Self-Report, among other details that'd make for an increase in numbers.

It's pretty (neuro)typical for people who don't externalize everything to insist that something done to them that was outside of their control was really their own fault for the sake of remaining in that myth of said control. It's as if accepting being out of control is worse or something.

Overall abuse tends to go underreported, even when you account for the squeaky wheels.

People like you are exactly why the autism community has so many problems.

What you said does not even make sense

Less prone to internalizing? Please, get a source other than pulling that out of your ass.

No, the main reason the Autism community has so many problems is over people not believing them, not over the amount of reporting.

Oh, I apologize, I thought you were saying autistic people are just whiny. My bad

To clarify, my overall point is that Abuse itself tends to be underreported alongside those who are otherwise not believed. People who themselves haven't gone through it tend to want to tune it out from it being something they can't relate to and many who've faced it for a variety of reasons don't even begin to know how to talk about it. Even from some who don't tune it out they're almost taking notes for their own room to say 'oh hey me too'.

Past a point, those with the privilege of having not faced problems themselves tend to start to blame the ones who are complaining from how it consistently brings them down, it's practically Pavlovian yet shows how unable to relate to the problems they really are, like whenever we'd see Spatial talk about any disadvantaged group that wasn't his own politics.

The problem that stands to keep abuse victims silenced and ineffective however are those who are quick to do false reports, like Munchausen's cases, Hypochondriacs with a high base of anxiety, people who relate too quickly to extreme labels they may have seen on a Quizilla or on TV something, or otherwise the phenomenon that's come to pass where it's somewhat trendy to find a disorder you belong to and to have one's five minutes of fame to discuss their own suffering under the same label as legitimate suffering.

The people who end up indulging in it tend to end up hurting the credibility and perceptions of those with legit issues, at points even over how someone with these problems might find themselves comparing themselves to the false expressions of it. Someone with legit issues could look at someone embellishing and use that as a way to tell themselves their own abuse 'must not be that bad' for example.

I don't understand 😅 I'm having a hard time getting what your saying

Past a point, those with the privilege of having not faced problems themselves tend to start to blame the ones who are complaining from how it consistently brings them down, it's practically Pavlovian yet shows how unable to relate to the problems they really are, like whenever we'd see Spatial talk about any disadvantaged group that wasn't his own politics.

Well this group is part of my politics, I am autistic myself and I want to devote my life to self advocacy. My brother also has severe autism, and my husband has autism himself. Nothing about us, without us

The problem that stands to keep abuse victims silenced and ineffective however are those who are quick to do false reports, like Munchausen's cases, Hypochondriacs with a high base of anxiety, people who relate too quickly to extreme labels

Yes if I had a dime for everytime someone was like OH IM AUTISTIC BECAUSE OF THIS (stupid and nonsensical reason here) ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE A DIAGNOSIS! (however that's not to say there are not many people, especially minorities and women, who lack a diagnosis but have autism) luckily I have a diagnosis, I was diagnosed at four.

they may have seen on a Quizilla or on TV something, or otherwise the phenomenon that's come to pass where it's somewhat trendy to find a disorder you belong to and to have one's five minutes of fame to discuss their own suffering under the same label as legitimate suffering.

Exactly, not to mention TV misrepresents us horribly.

I don't understand what your saying here

But yeah people tend to not believe me about the abuse I have faced so I get what your saying
