No evidence in science communication is often misinterpreted to mean that the claim is false.
A claim can be plausible or implausible.. and there can be good reasons for there not to be sufficient evidence to prove a claim is true... but in bad science communication all of this is placed in the same bucket.
No good evidence means... you shouldn't believe the claim to be true. Not that the claim is implausible.
Therefore, I propose new terms to be adopted in science communication. Plausible, implausible, and undetermined likelihood. Evidence warrants belief... whereas plausibility allows the mindless masses to determine if they should panic or not.
