Star's known stims are chewing her wand, flapping her hands, bouncing up and down, gargoyle sitting, and raptor hands.I would have never written that in my headcanon as signs of disorder from a cartoon, but I guess if no one else in the show is doing those things it's bound to focus it in on her.
I just find myself thinking of shows like Spongebob when he's trying to use this rationale.Well actually spongebob could be autistic
Spongebob is definitely NT. Patrick may be autistic
But patrick lacks many of the symptoms of autism. But spongebob has all the symptoms. Like he is huperfcused on his one special skill which is crabby patties
Patrick lacks the social skills spongebob does tho
Lacking social skills s only one of any autism symptoms
Except ASD's definition is lacking social skills such that it impacts your daily life. Patrick's does, while Star's quirkiness and stimming doesn't. Star is at most a romanticized version of what people think autism is.
Your response made no sense. No that is not the main definition, there is an entire autism diagnostic that includes lack of social skills, but it is not the only symptom of autism.
Dumb bitch stop idealizing your own disorder.
Wikipedia says:
Clinicians consider assessment for ASD when a patient shows:
regular difficulties in social interaction or communication
restricted or repetitive behaviours (often called "stimming")
resistance to changes or restricted interests
These features are typically assessed with the following, when appropriate:
problems in obtaining or sustaining employment or education
difficulties in initiating or sustaining social relationships
connections with mental health or learning disability services
a history of neurodevelopmental conditions
The main definition is disability, and how it negatively affects their life. In which there's very little on Star's part. You and Patrick are a lot more affected.
