I'm not even talking about Yiffing, I know that's mostly a stereotype that began from repressed Oldfurs as a response to Zine culture. 

The modern furry is the thing that is hauntingly depressing to vibe around for too long. They fight so hard for this message of happiness to the point of desperation, and underneath all of that's one of the highest suicide attempt rates I've seen from a demographic. The ones I saw handled the problem remarkably casually too, as if those who've recently attempted aren't attending like when someone calls in sick for work. 

Seriously they're dark in a naïve and simple way, tons of mommy/daddy issues from people desperately looking for guidance. I've even seen people prey upon these groups to start weird fur harems and shit, it just gets darker the deeper you look into it. Even their Fursonas tend to have some kind of disturbing subtext that, while edgy on the surface, tends to reference some sort of real damages, and it's often used as an element of escapism from the woes of human life, a way to show a cartoonish disdain for the human form. 

And all this shit's before even looking at what the internet's expression of them is.

Not even, it's the demographic that this rhetoric appeals to. 

It's a den for the disordered, 9 times out of 10 experiencing some form of depression.

As a matter of forming a Sociological average I would say that SC is significantly more well adjusted.
