Shes much more concerned about her neediness driving away men than her bitchiness.

She wasn't particularly abrasive during her earlier days in the forum. She was passive, boring and vulnerable. That's how I'd imagine her real life to be. This combined with her neediness is what seems to drive away most guys irl.
