You might want to do some drills and look over the material before you try signing yourself up for anything.

I would say either engineering, computer programming, or medicine are all great fields.

I'd beg to differ. 

It is not very hard to do it. You are intelligent enough. One does not need intelligence to do any subject etc. Medicine school is not rocket science, it is a lot of memorizing. You dont need much fluid intelligence. BUT I am going to say MAYBE because you have many mental health issues as you yourself will know for yourself. No point defending it etc., as you have nothing to gain or to lose from it at that point. I am going to say MAYBE because it is a mental health issue, not a competence issue. So I believe intelligence wise you could do it but you have mental problems that are the real issue. Because of my practice I believe there can always be change and there is capacity to improve these things. So I am going to say if you prove to yourself that you can hold any job for 1 year you can try it. When you have achieved this for yourself and you still want to do it I will say have a go at it.

I wake up every single morning and curse myself for leaving. I feel like the only way I can make this feeling abate is to try to go back, but it's not the easy path.
