John Ramirez's, a former Satanic priest's, testimony is very similar to mine, I also felt like people treated me like Jesus did not love me when I was in Christian school growing up, and I did not understand why, it took me a while to be able to understand the scriptures and to accept Jesus's forgiveness for all of my sins, and not continue to agree to allow my depression and hopelessness over how horrible my life had become to rule my life

I mean obviously people have converted from Satanism to Christianity, and many have in turn converted from Christianity to Satanism. 

When someone reaches a crisis point in their life, and the strength they expected to find isn't there for it, they have the potential to become more open minded to other potential ideas, leaving them more impressionable overall. This is why cults like to seek these sorts out, as well as churches. 

It's not that weird for one's faith to change, potentially many times in their lives even. It's an adaptive way of attempting to express our beliefs through a streamlined form.
