She's just sorted people into camps, and in this case feels the need to chastise people who call themselves Christians rather than people who don't. 

It reads to me as gatekeeping.

 I feel like it's a superposition of a shadow categorization in line with her own underlying insecurities and perceived weaknesses, etc.  She aligns these categories with which to satisfy ego needs among the other categories.

I just find it interesting that, rather than trying to show those in the darkness God's light, that she'd rather push those who see the light further from it by making it into some sort of contest, like it's a hierarchy. 

It makes it easy to see it as her being jealous when it's those who come the closest to Jesus that end up being in her crosshairs.

 Yeah; the "Divine Mother" identity...  Definitely ego and sense of self struggling with being special, amid the fact God and Jesus love all equally, irrespective of person.

It's seriously Erotomania + God Complex, she wants something that'll protect her from the world and from herself while otherwise feeling bigger than all of it. 

How she moved this combative sense of ego satisfaction by relinquishing attempts to proselytize and preach to men is interesting, too.  It signals that she's more concerned about a romantic relationship, while also seeking a place of authority over all other romantic relationship (or other relationship, with enough reach).  She can appear contrite and aligned in her doctrine of choice (or choice of interpretation), whilst also satisfying the underlying desires she's attempting to fulfill.
