On Friday, November 19, 2021 those in North America, South America, Australia and East Asia will see the full Moon turn red.

However, it won’t go completely red. In fact, during the event only 97% of the Moon will enter Earth’s shadow in space, leaving a tiny portion still illuminated by the Sun.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when a full Moon passes through Earth’s shadow in space. Each month the New Moon passes roughly between the Earth and the Sun and then orbits to the other side of Earth to the Sun to become a full Moon.

Kindred spirits! I'm a sky watcher too. During the total lunar eclipse/blood moon in 2015 during a melancholic phase, I passed on the narcissistic neo-pagan rituals where the hippies offered up their kombucha, crystals and vanity to the sky gods, to instead travel to sit with the buffalo and take it in solo. Buffalo are scary and the moon makes you feel small. It was a mix of awe and terror.

There was this wee Ukrainian church in the middle of the prairies though...

Hard to say… the world is getting crazier weather/climate change. We are literally in a world wide pandemic. I’ve noticed things changed since the last eclipses…

I can’t tell if it’s good or bad. It might based on perspective.
