As someone who's done near-no research on the modern expression of it, but was otherwise quite mad with how corporations tried to strangle the idea of the electric car to death through a variety of means in the early 2000s, I see Electric Cars in general as a step in the right direction. Even if someone tries to make a monopoly over it that will still inspire the ingenious among us to invent workarounds. 

Personally though I'm still waiting on Self-Driving cars, considering that for a variety of reasons I should not be behind the wheel of a car. It's going to take someone pushing through Union fears and the like if we're to ever see it happen, considering how it'll potentially serve to topple much of the working class. 

I'm honestly more interested in hydrogen cars, thinking about maybe getting one but there's not a lot of hydrogen fuel stations around
