A few days ago Meta announced its visions for a new VR platform. A short video about it's here:
There's a version that's around an hour long that goes into more detail about how Meta envisions the new future of the workplace—a virtual reality space for remote workers to collaborate in. It seems inevitable to me that this will the future for many types of jobs, and that this kind of technology is what the generations after the zoomers (and maybe the zoomers themselves) will grow up integrated with. There will be social and cultural changes on par with what happened when social media got big...this may even eclipse what happened there.
While I see myself not wanting to get into this trend (like with TikTok), this domain is probably going to be one of those tech shifts where people either sink or swim with the waves of change. If not with Meta's version, then with everyone else filling the new niche. (TC this might be a good time to get into NFTs)
