Facebook is being targeted by estabilishment/elites as we speak

Facebook inadvertently stepped on the wrong shoes by allowing certain speech and opinions get distributed (for their own financial gain for sure, but still), right wings, anti vaxx faggots, everyone was allowed ot scream because it was good ragebait = more clicks = more money. This pissed off the wrong big shoes and now they are coming at Facebook full force.

Since this morning during the facebook outage I have been seeing non stop "news" articles like this:

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-58784615

https://www.reuters.com/technology/european-politicians-call-facebook-investigation-after-whistleblower-revelation-2021-10-04/

"whistleblowers" talk about the how bad Facebook is, facebook goes down for hours, people freak out, "analysts" predict facebook stock will go to 0 etc

I hate facebook for its data mining practices but you have gotta give it to them that they gave some platform to those who have different views. What do you guys think?

I think this whistleblower and all the attention is a blip on their radar.  "Big shoes" is being extremely generous, Facebook is the giant in this David v Goliath moment.  Nothing will change.

like the cow above said nothing will fundamentally change. the money will continue to pour in especially considering how widely spread out Facebook is now, they're too big and too ingrained to fail because of a scandal. to go down they'd have to crumble from within or be taken down by some external force like the US government banning them, and that won't happen

despite all that, whistleblowers are important still because they spread awareness which is the foundation for change and without it we'd be complaining about the lack of it :-p i mean, cambridge analytics was eventually brought down with the help of a whistleblower after all
