A friend of mine was racially profiled.

hi so, a family friend of mine, who we are very close to. we support each other, we are sort of like family, very much so.

he was driving one day just like any other day, and police mistook him for a man who apparently was on the run from the law and had done some serious crimes. they thought it was him, and instead of attempting a normal arrest, because this was already a fleeing suspect to them they decided to catch him off guard.

i say this with a heavy heart. they threw tracks down and popped his tires, and then jack knifed his car aka tboned it, and then several officers at this point had him at gun point immediately.

all of it happened so quickly, you know, and then after bringing him back to the station they realized, it's not him.

the police apologized and offered to replace his tires (but not his car, which was totaled).

this is a horrible, thing that has happened and I don't really know how to react. I felt so bad and, want to do something.

Why'd he run? The police are our friends.

Either Blanc didn't write clearly enough or your reading comprehension is off.  Reread.  The narrative was pretty much explaining the friend was driving pretty normal and the police thought they got a drop on a suspect that didn't think he was at risk of being caught.

My question is: did the friend go to the hospital?  If so, why not visit or send something?  If not, then...just call them. :/

Well Blanc, MAYBE you should stop charming guys with your silver tongue those icy blue eyes if you don't intend to marry them.

Yes. According to what was written, her friend was minding his own business when the force swatted him with a 3 hit combo.

My advice to your friend would be not to settle anything with the police, they will undercompensate as much as 50% cause they know things like this make millionaires, where any lawyer will work for free until you get the money to pay them.

It's a blessing in disguise. Though the purest of hearts would only seek compensation for the car, and maybe a small amount. The police mistook him for someone who is at large and probably dangerous.

Yeah; the incompetence is a serious issue that can't be left unresolved.

My bad, I read:

Blanc said:

because this was already a fleeing suspect to them they decided to catch him off guard.

as:

because he was already fleeing they decided to catch him off guard.

Following that I read it as what they proceeded to do from his choice to flee, which fit the idea of a cop T-boning his car.
