Depends on the nature. It can feel good to just pitch a tent somewhere and watch fireflies, use frogs to tell if there's going to be rain, to be by the water feeling the salt air or by a river listening to the movement of the water and the sounds of the creatures within... It can be peaceful up to a point, especially when there's no other people nearby.
It's also cheap if you plan it right.
They take a lot of patience, but a museum about things you actually like (like a BDSM museum, or the Museum of Broadcasting) can be a good way to spend the day.
Only complaint I have other than patience is over my feet getting tired past a point.
- temples and spiritual faggotry
I like them for the art, a lot of effort went into it and they usually do something interesting with the expressions.
The Sanctuary of Truth in Thailand (now that you have me thinking about that trip again) is one such place with really good wood carvings, but because of water damages they have to constantly recarve and replace them once they're too soggy to keep. Some of the best sights I saw at that temple were in that workshop, looking at all the failure carvings they threw into a pile with no spiritual consideration whatsoever.
Hiking just feels good though, and it's how to see nature do weirder shapes if not seeing some weird otherworldly swamp nature or something.
- villages
- traditional dances and food events
Those can be cute though, especially if it's super cheaply handled to the point of insulting it's origins.
- getting raped by some shaman faggot on a beach at 4am
Wha?
They get pricey, and it highly depends on the city for if it's even worth that. Some are just boring buildings with chain businesses while others can have murals, culture, and older architecture splattered all over the place.
They do make for better people watching too, even in a shit-tier city.
- small local food places with delicious food that u cant read the name of
Those scare me a bit, like I feel like I'm being rude for not being able to read the menu and that ordering poorly will make that worse.
That being said those have been some of the better times for restaurant-ing. Trying spicy food in Asia has made me bolder about eating spicy food in general.
- night venues you can catch an exotic std in
Night life > Day life, for so many reasons.
I generally agree, but past a point they get redundant if they're all in the same location.
Rooftop bars and restaurants are pretty amazing though, especially when the weather's hot and the wind is strong. The ones with couches are even better.
