 Just because some people must have known, doesn't mean it was an intentional outcome.  Large, multifaceted organizations like the government are disjointed.  The ones in the know aren't always the ones making decisions, especially when the outcome is the result of twenty years worth of decisions being made by countless different people.

They totally knew the Afghans wouldn't fight, if not that would say something about US intelligence. Efficiency is important when it comes to military functions and surely their progress was being reported over the past 19 years after military personal were ordered to train them.

There's a bit of this kind of footage, and time and time again it shows how Afghan men seriously can't do jumping jacks. 

In all honesty, if I were in the Afghan military, I'd lose hope and give up too the very day the Americans left. This is the result of sparing punishment for misconduct, meanwhile the Taliban easily wouldn't tolerate this shit from their men.

Afghan army was largely a ghost army, about 40 percent of people signed up for it were fake to get money, the soldiers that were real were largely demotivated, had not been paid in many months etc. Plus the exact same thing happened only a few years ago in Syria when ISIS invaded with like 2k fighters and the official army soldiers ran away in thousands. The US does after all have a real military industrial complex, where those who profit from defense spending have their way time and time again with endless war.

When the US left Iraq they left behind weapons and vehicles which was then acquired by the enemy.

Now $83,000,000,000 worth of weapons, just left to an incompetent force paid for by US citizens, and again the enemy acquires it.

This is very profitable for Lockheed Martin who has the most to gain from providing weapons, not only to the US, but also enemies of the US, and it looks as though they managed another sell off.

It's probably too late to save Afghanistan now. The Taliban are known for using children as shields. Now they are probably rounding up children for various use cases.

100% agreed on all fronts. This exact scenario, ISIS-K involvement included, was entirely forseen. The fact is that the US don't give a good goddamn about their personnel in Afghanistan, nor about the mission in general. Seems clearer and clearer to me each day that it was temporarily profitable, and that was the sole motivation. I've been accused of being "tin-foil hat" by ex-colleagues for this opinion, but I feel like I've spat out the Kool-aid tbh. This is some military-industrial complex shit. I was following some sources yesterday, and it's been reported that the Biden administration gave the Taliban a list of all military personal and all Afghans who aided them over the past 18 years. The list is being referred to as a death list. 

As for the suicide bomber at the airport. It's a tough pill to swallow when the Taliban were heavily securing the airport, welding gates shut etc. Let ISIS take the blame, though the Taliban isn't exactly sticking to the original agreement either which entailed if any US citizens or military personal was harmed during evacuation, it would spark more war.
