Wonder if I should post my initial reaction / thoughts about the new kit released the industrial loft kit.
i feel like, to create an entire video going through every detail would be boring but
to sum up my thoughts, I don’t really have a lot of interest in it I think a lot of it is very like basic necessities you can use for building but
it’s not like I’m freaking out about it, I think they’re just trying to be fair and providing a masculine kit because they released all this cottage core stuff lately that a lot of male simmers might be sort of aggravated by if there was a lack of gender neutrality in the coming releases
a lot of the released in the game do cater to women I feel like and so this was probably just an effort to keep both parties happy
perhaps the male simmers are really into this new industrial kit
i just don’t have that masculine of a taste in interior design so I kind of think it’s yucky. But the items basic enough it can be useful even for people who are not into masculine aesthetics in home building.
but now to get into the stylization behind the actual items I most definitely do understand the inspiration behind the stylized pieces they created howrver I do feel that a lot of furniture and stuff lately if it’s not cottage core it can be extremely Scandinavian
And I don’t really understand the doors or the rugs they chose as they don’t align with that Scandinavian style at all and they’re not really industrial as much to me either they seem more like “dumped” renderings from old updates they just didn’t include but then later decided to include and just seem sort of random
the main focus of the kit seemed to be the weird ceiling pipes and that’s about it
in my opinion I feel a lack of effort in fleshing out this pack and really packing a punch with its release it just doesn’t feel complete to me and lacks cohesion style wise
I do like that they are at least putting consistent effort into releasing new things that will inspire us to get creative with our builds and branching out into creative places mentally with their thought process
I like how creativity of the sims community is being embraced and supported and how they’re always giving us new stuff so we don’t get bored I really do appreciate that
but this just felt a bit lacking like maybe needed to see just a few more items in there, to make it all come together.
it would be awesome if there was more like 50-75 or even 100-125 new items with each kit
I wouldn’t mind that. 20 and under is a little…. Meh. Ya know??
Also the bed from the industrial loft kit gives me an idea, i'm sure some people do appreciate the bars around it as that is something a lot of people have been creating using the bb.moveobjects hack so it's nice to not have to 'build' one but to just already have a nice basic framed canopy type bed if that is what you were looking for
and that initially i thought was ugly but, it's getting a plus in my book actually due to my recent trip to the restoration hardware headquarters in NC, USA.
in the bedrooms in restoration hardware they did use these canopy framed beds and then put curtains around them like a sheer linen type deal and it looks absolutely beautiful if you just have the right furniture with it and headboard etc. it was a reallye elegant and feminine twist on the industrial modern look.
so that new bed in this actually does get a check in my book as that was something i recently saw IRL and sort of gave an A+ in my mind as far as design detail and aesthetic it was very beautiful, looked like a magazine.
i just wish they would introduce some head board options separately so you can go in whichever direction you please with the frame. it has wide style optimization.
The game needs a graphical upgrade. There is a reshade mod but the difference is that's great.
I found 1 demo for Sim's 3 where someone got raytracing to work, but they overkilled the depth of field to compensate for how bad the raytracing actually is.
I'm also seeing how the Sim's 4 will be turning 7 years old, next month. How are you not bored of it ?
There is no real footage of Sim's 5, but here's what you can expect since it's from EA.
80% chance they will use the Frostbite Engine to render Sims 5. EA likes to use this engine cause it's in house. Chances are they won't use it though, cause it's a real pain in the ass to work with, and even a pain in the ass to run for the user. Personally I like Anthem, but Anthem's downfall is blamed on the use of this game engine. The list of issues gamers had with this engine is crazy, so chances are they won't bother using it. If they do, you can certainly expect a facelift.
EA should use the unreal engine. Still I don't think EA will go for hyper realism for Sims 5, cause it'll be more profitable if older hardware can run it efficiently.
If it were open world with real estate that would be cooler, but then it'll turn into GTA and the world would be littered with unfriendly company. Next version of that game is probably going to be about graphics, and better if you can port all of your game packs over.
In sims 4 build mode right now and, I have one major complaint which is that the doors don’t function if you make them larger
why allow them to get larger if they aren’t going to function
I would like more customizable sizing on doors and windows and for them to function when you do so
but, good news is with the new update apparently you can actually furnish your attic and use it as like a 2nd or 3rd floor which is super sick
edit: i got the doors to work, was something wrong in build mode. but yeah, custom sizing would still be great.

Is game support such that making these critiques/wishes/suggestions to them is pointless?

the sims community is pretty good about listening to feedback from the community on socials and they do surveys and such. they're very into supporting their creators and what people like or ask for etc.. they are all about the end user most definitely.
btw, edit: i got the doors to work, was something wrong in build mode. but yeah, custom sizing would still be great.
