Celebrate Recovery 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

hi, im Emily and im a recovering sex and binge eating indulgent food addict

today is my first day of taking recovering extremely seriously especially because Logan is stalking me and tried to hit me with his car (he is desperate to try to figure out a way to cum in me and sacrifice me to Satan with his friends but he will never be physically touching me)

Celebrate Recovery's eight recovery principles based on the beatitudes

1. R - Realize I’m not God; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. (Step 1)

Matthew 5:3

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

2. E - Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2)

Matthew 5:4

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

3. C - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. (Step 3)

Matthew 5:5

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

4. O - Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. (Steps 4 and 5)

Matthew 5:8

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

5. V - Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. (Steps 6 and 7)

Matthew 5:6

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

6. E - Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Steps 8 and 9)

Matthew 5:9

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

7. R - Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will. (Steps 10 and 11)

8. Y - Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words. (Step 12)

Matthew 5:10

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

the 12 Steps and biblical comparisons

1. We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable.

Romans 7:18

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

2. We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Philippians 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

3. We made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God.

Romans 12:1

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Lamentations 3:40

40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

James 5:16

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

James 4:10

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

7. We humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings.

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

Luke 6:31

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

9. We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Matthew 5:23-24

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

10. We continue to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

1 Corinthians 10:12

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us, and power to carry that out.

Colossians 3:16

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

12. Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs.

Galatians 6:1

6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Throughout this material, you will notice several references to the Christ-centered 12 Steps. Our prayer is that Celebrate Recovery will create a bridge to the millions of people who are familiar with the secular 12 Steps (I acknowledge the use of some material from the 12 Suggested Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous) and in so doing, introduce them to the one and only true Higher Power, Jesus Christ. Once they begin that relationship, asking Christ into their hearts as Lord and Savior, true healing and recovery can begin!

Prayer for Serenity

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

here I am
down on my knees again
surrendering all
surrendering all

find me here
Lord as You draw me near
desperate for You
desperate for You

I surrender

drench my soul
as mercy and grace unfold
I hunger and thirst
I hunger and thirst

with arms stretched wide
I know You hear my cry
speak to me now
speak to me now

I surrender
I surrender
I wanna know You more
I wanna know You more

like a rushing wind
Jesus breathe within
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

like a mighty storm
stir within my soul
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

like a rushing wind
Jesus breathe within
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

like a mighty storm
stir within my soul
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

like a rushing wind
Jesus breathe within
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

like a mighty storm
stir within my soul
Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

Lord have Your way
Lord have Your way in me

I surrender
I surrender
I wanna know You more

Why put faith in something you can't control, rather than putting faith in yourself?

Why do you need to be in control over something to put faith into it?

I wouldn't put faith in a horse without reins.

Not even a horse you knew really well?
