extremely beautiful

That's a cool painting. Struggling with all the symbolism though. I note the eclipse, the burning bush, and stairway to heaven. But I'm mystified by the scared choirboy and Newton getting schooled by a hispanic dude while a black guy looks on judgementally.

So deep and abstract!

That's a painting by Benjamin Long. He did tons of freaky frescoes like that with occult/masonry symbolism: pyramid, jacob's ladder, the black sun, masonic boy etc. I don't know what it means? He painted a series of these for a bank. Maybe it's supposed to be the evolution of what society worships through the ages, thus the bankers/suits in the front. Maybe he's mocking the bank that prob paid him millions for it - like a classy troll.
