How long is this fasting going to last..? 

It's really unhealthy actually. It can work like a sort of reset switch for the brain for some people, but it can absolutely destroy one's metabolism. A lot of religions only have someone fast to simulate suffering, like when Jews fast to relate to the pain of their ancestors, it's not actually that good for you to not be taking in essential vitamins and nutrients, even fats and calories serve a purpose. 

The ones who push fasting the most these days are cults, seeing as how being starved of brain food can make someone more pliable.
