i actually suspect more than 1 person under this category, including myself, who controlled my partners previously by claiming the moral high ground and making up some sort of moral deficiency they have to make up for (putting myself in a position of control),
What do you think about this subcategory of narcissism? What do you think causes some narcissists to adopt the moral superiority instead of the Nietsche master morality type of superiority? Sam Vaknin says that the covert narcissist is ashamed of his malignant envy that makes a narcissist want all the good for himself and to externalize everything bad, and to also possess some sort of conscience / capacity for guilt.
My own explanation is that its some sort of compensation (if I cant be smarter, prettier, stronger, I can be a better person, kinder, more of a victim etc), which sounds like the nice guy archetype alot if I am to think about it.
