Otherwise, hasn't this sort of thing been an issue since shit like AOL chatrooms and Myspace? I feel like pedophilia's always had a creepy place on the internet, and that what's really changed is moreover the subject being more topical than it once was from increased public awareness of the issue. 

I feel bad for Discord, they've been swimming in this since their platform became a convenient bridge for multiple age-groups. The convenience of it invites what they'd otherwise do elsewhere anyway, and in many respects I'm not really sure what they can do about it in the long term from the issue being independent of the platform beyond it's use.
