Ground combat has started, but the IDF hasn't gone into Gaza yet. I'd be surprised if they don't. Last time this happened was pretty brutal.

Israel often does "roof knocks" where they warn tenants of a building first by dropping non explosives. They also often text people within the building. Palestinians claim that Israel does not always do this. The way buildings fall apart can be rather sloppy, so there is often collateral damage in the vicinity. I don't believe that members of Hamas or their families get warned.
