do you remember this?

I remember it clear as day, there was a hiker emoji and a robber emoji. I thought it just was some sort of update as to why they disappeared

That's pretty weird, I have no memory of those as intended.

Perhaps you're just weak willed?

Perhaps I come from an alternate dimension and when we met, I was forced into yours, or vs.

I went over all the most common Mandela effect things with my parents, and it appears that depending on when you were born it affects what you believed to be true.

Some of the common ones were, the monopoly man’s monocle, he had one. But not in this timeline. Another one, it was spelled Froot Loops, right? No. It’s fruit loops.

It seems kind of dumb, and these are easily mistakable things I suppose. But some of them are more perplexing. Like the Statue of Liberty. People recall going inside the torch, despite claims its been closed to the public since World War I. My mom is one of the people that recalls going inside it. And many believed it was on Ellis island. If you would of asked me where is the Statue of Liberty, I would of quickly replied, “Ellis Island” as would my entire family. But apparently it’s on Liberty Island.

This has lead people to deduce all kinds of crazy theories while trying to understand how this large scale mix up has happened.

I have to argue, these people aren’t likely approaching the issue in an unbiased or ‘double blind’ manner.

There was a scientist who on his death bed claimed that a select few do know about the existence of aliens and we have been in contact with them for some time. And that we even negotiate with them- and that they hold meetings underground on Mars.

Was he just playing a funny joke before he died, or was he leaking something he was misled to believe that wasn’t totally true, I don’t know.

But he said, the reason why the public hasn’t been informed is because we wouldn’t be “ready” for it.

Perhaps it would expose information about simulation theory or things involving the very fabric of our existence, etc. They could be inter dimensional beings who also time travel, etc.

And I’m pretty sure if we just randomly told everyone on the planet that this is all just a simulation, it would create a wave of mass suicides with the insinuation that you can’t really die, because you don’t really exist. Or perhaps you’ll just wake up in another alternate reality, and people would just start jumping realities like crazy.

Que black mirror episode about two lovers who keep meeting over and over again in each possible new alternate reality.

Time travel is a completely different topic. Here’s some food for thought for starters...

More likely the symbol's familiar to you, and through someone else asking the question of where it went it jogged a false memory from you being a conformist.

I remember it clear as day there was totally a robber emoji at some point, somewhere. Was it on some other keyboard I used in some game or messaging platform maybe. But I remember that thing with the eyes and the mask, the black and white striped shirt, as well as the running one with the bag of money.

I could be mixing it up though and it was from some other place than the emoji keyboard we are all thinking of. But why does everyone remember this distinct image of a man running with money. Like, it has to be from somewhere.

Did you remember that before you saw someone asking about where it went though?

The question's largely rhetorical, and I wouldn't expect myself to answer it in your shoes over how hard it is to keep track of how we used to think within a small span of time.

The robber symbol is a common symbol in general, we've had a lot of exposure to them without them being emojis. As such, you have an association with the symbol and from emojis being so commonplace you've presumed to have seen it from there.

All it takes is someone asking where a familiar enough cultural symbol went for a bandwagon to accumulate the falsehood. This is how collective insanity can spread and flourish in general, and memory itself is loose enough that it's pretty typical to sew together details from two vague memories as if they were one.

It happens to most people, a lot, and is itself related to the nature of how memory works. We aren't imprinting perfect details, we're eyeballing it and picking up impressions. It's more like soup up there than a computer terminal.

Also the article I shared where it talks about one theory that some people believe society and technological innovation peaked and then plateaued in 2012 is completely false as we according to research we have had innovation and discovery occur at an exponential rate since that point and from before that point leading up to it.
