I don't think he made it sound this dramatic, but he does question your credentials, something you've made pretty easy to do when for all we know you could be unemployed right now.

No, but he does see himself as a better worker than you as a general rule, which very well may be true. 

He's also suspected based on your being there in a role that has you in charge over others, which is more than nothing. 

I think pointing out that I'm at least moderately successful (by the usual standards) while he's a junkie working as a shift leader at a burger king is an appropriate response to that. Don't you think?

That just means your job's more prestigious, not much else. 

I've seen amazing people at the lower levels and absolute shit tier people at the upper ones, which... has me inclined to fall back onto the 'Dilbert Principle of Business' that Chapo recently referenced.

Am I to believe that this is you admitting that he cares about his work more than you care about yours? 

I've since then also taken back a few of my comments and admitted that Chapo is at least a decent worker by burger-standards. I also never shamed anyone for having a stable job.

You however have aimed to make the lack of stability points through his being a 'junkie' or whatever. 

Interesting tricks for trying to worm out of the argument though, but I'm still at this point convinced that Chapo's your superior when it comes to things like how you conduct yourself at work as well as personal fulfilment through the workplace. He also seems to carry a superior understanding of people and their tendencies, while you at best might be able to flex academic achievement.
