Don't try this emotionally manipulative shit. I've heard all of this countless times before. You use these public declarations to make it seem like you're committed to changing, like you're actually capable of feeling remorse for your actions, and to garner sympathy from the people who might otherwise support me. You always manage to turn everyone against me so I have no one to turn to. Then you accuse me of being the negative force that brings you down and prevents you from changing if I don't just go along with everything. I'm not interested in hearing anymore, this changes nothing.
Dude, this is scary. He is a lot like Jim, but he does seem like he can't change. I don't think Jim can change either, but he is going to therapy and I am too nice and too forgiving to not take that into account. Your dude seems to be saying he will fix himself after you are back together, whereas Jim is trying to fix himself even though we are not together. I think you are doing the right thing. Stay away. Make him change first, make him date someone you trust, and then see what she has to say about him once he has gone to therapy and fixed himself, but only if you still love him.
