I agree that banning Trump was just as bad a decision as banning Alex Jones, this idea that people need to be told what is and isn't real information while screening naysayers is how we'll end up in 1984.

As active as he was on Twitter I’m sure he had more than one issue with it. I’m actually very interested to see how this goes.

I never used twitter, I don't use facebook or anything else really. Even most discord servers are like left leaning police states it seems, so this is at the very least an intriguing meme and best case scenario an actually good alternative

Free speech is a very complicated question.  In many ways I agree, but it's certainly not as simple as "speech doesn't hurt people, let everyone say whatever they want in whatever context".  Especially these days, when we're confronted with the rapid social changes of unprecedented access to communication.

I expect the results of this, should it ever get off the ground, will disappoint a lot of Trump fans.  There will still need to be more restriction than they'd like, or the new platform will end up with 8kun-style legal issues on its hands.

Pretty sure the laws on free speech have been clearly defined. Several lawsuits in the past about fighting words and  other forms of non-protected speech. There is a list of 6 or so, if I remember correctly. I remember one on obscenities, which I found interesting.

Slander and liable are also clear with many legal examples.

So I thinking free speech is clear by legal terms.

Really what we have is a group of people that are more sensitive than others, they do get hurt, they have thin skins. Essentially honor culture, where people would get feelings hurt by slights and challenge to a dual to the death. Honor above all as status in society.

Social Justice culture is where victimhood replaces honor and rises above all.

So I see making new laws for free speech as pandering to this group. I don't like it. The laws on the books right now are just fine imho.
