Hello
Have you looked into any of their media?
The Road to Freedom; Sides A and B respectively:
The Power of Source (very alternative):
Space Jazz, the Battle Field Earth book soundtrack (not the movie):
The Kids On Stage For A Better Tomorrow (2 tracks):
Mission Earth Soundtrack
Huh, they have a Live Feed on their Youtube Channel now:
This channel... makes some interesting claims:
"There must be a third party present for any conflict to occur" (lolwut?).
Okay wow, the lessons are surprisingly covert.
The main theme I've picked out of videos so far is the following ideas:
- Conflict is unnatural, only occurring from the interference of a third party (how convenient).
- While emotions can swing one's position to other spots temporarily, emotional baselines telegraph one's "Tone". Communication can temporarily shift one's score, but they otherwise have a baseline they'll typically revert to on their own.
- Tone can be scaled with their evaluation criteria:
o 4.0 to 2.5 are Theta communicators, trying to build towards productivity with a more open mind.
o 2.0 to 1.1 are Entheta communicators, trying to tear down those around them to advance themselves.
o 1.0 to 0.0 are barely functional and tend to not participate in tone communication; Negligent or Retarded. - Theta comms are meant to build peace and prosperity openly through direct detail oriented words while Entheta comms are meant to tear down and suppress progress for personal gains covertly through either hostility or covert suppression.
They essentially set up a build where there's a war between naive optimism and malicious pessimism, able to make out anyone who is a critic of their faith to be an Anti-Social Personality, and vaguely sell that any conflict you'd have with Scientology could only be the byproduct of a third party, never them, making for a very cult-like blame game structure that should be remarkably easy to steer (especially considering how they behave the closer they get to 4.0). It's like a more streamlined Christian/Karma hybrid but with a scoreboard in place of a vague understanding of personal sin.
It's actually pretty cleverly built for being a scam, and a lot of their videos sell this like... childish wide-eyed look as their ideal candidate while selling clever squinters as "people to watch out for". The hypocrisy scalings are a bit absurd at points but also very easily shrouded.
Their other more colorful tone scale has some weird implications:
If anything can be said about these guys, they definitely did their research on color theory and empathy casting through appeal to emotion and zoomed in face acting when it comes to their media. It's full of super blatant steering choices that are liable to work on more easily entranced people (despite the irony that implies in their hypnotism scoring for their evaluation). Even their music is clearly meant to steer more immediate thoughts on timed cues, especially when they try to sell "uplifting" and "motivational". Their youtube channel's choices in hypno-aesthetic strongly resemble techniques I've observed in shows like 13 Reasons Why (especially second season).
Past these... ideas, a lot of their videos otherwise seem to reinforce similar concepts, such as pushing for their own ideas of Integrity, Ethics, and Honesty that's closer to the wide-eyed commune slave snitch (with some leg room) on a tight quota than a clever and critical thinker. Their angle heavily promotes the idea of "communicate what's wrong to a superior and otherwise stop thinking about it before it corrupts you". Their ideology even embraces the idea of driving Entheta communicators into non-communicative scores if they prove to be too critical, labeling them "Suppressive Persons". "It is considered acceptable within Scientology to lie, cheat, steal and commit illegal acts in the name of dealing with a "suppressive person.""
They seem oddly fixated on causality as a corruptible force, going at length about using only positive tones and avoiding the Anti-Social Personality conspiracy. Their leaders just need to have a chill smile and use nice words at all times and they will always look like the good guys, appear enlightened and above it at all times while redirecting the blame towards their would-be rescuers and critics, as even concerns and fears are scaled as worse than hostility to these people's ideology of positive vibes in order to suppress the opposition (they even list regret and blame as worse than hopelessness and death).
A lot of cults these days seem to really try to go for the "Positive Vibes" aspect, like Unicult.
