Why is the UK 300 years behind every other European country? I find it so mind-blowing that a modern Western democracy could rationalize keeping a parasitic family in the manner to which they're accustomed for thousands of years without beheading them eventually.
Literally the best argument I've heard from a Brit about this is "they're a tourist attraction and part of our tradition".
