It's a bit long-form for me at the moment, but I like this stuff so I will get around to it. This is a topic I've enjoyed but never delved like super deep into. My favorite artist in this genre is the Canadian painter William Kurelek and the work he did during his schizophrenic break. I was amazed by the amount of detail and meaning behind what he put out.
It's like every part of that conveys a form of mental torture. Couldn't find a high quality image that had the whole thing, but that's most of it there.
I think he made this next one after he snapped back to reality, but not entirely sure.
You'd have to open the image in a tab to see the detail on that because of the constraints of the forum threads. It's some wild shit, though. I've been a fan of this kind of stuff. As you probably know, a Louis Wain painting was my profile picture for a long time. Insanity seems to bring with it an element of creativity.
