Essence of the story is, Matthew Cox used to run a bunch of scams of all types, mostly related to mortgage. But also getting fake IDs, passports, impersonation, whatever else. He was getting up in the millions on schemes basically operating on thin air and manipulation. He says openly that he's a narcissist and sociopathic, etc., but he doesn't seem to act like a total prick anymore. At least not too much.
I've been watching him on the Koncrete podcast, and it seems clear to me that he's still manipulative. But it's one of those cases where it doesn't even matter, because the person is engaging and has really funny stories. The ones where he talks about the books he's written about financial crime inmates are awesome.
