I mean how in dire need is the upkeep down there for you? I don't grow much body hair there so it's never really been much of an issue beyond neurotic perfectionistic nonsense from body hair on myself seeming like "dirt". 

After a full body shave otherwise I tend to just trim them. It's lack of smoothness doesn't seem to cause the same skin texture triggering in myself that's otherwise the case for other body parts.

 personally i go for a number 2 on the ol trimmer as i think it looks presentable but isnt so short that its itchy and looks gay

If you shave it, you can't rock your hormones as hard. Pubes are like antennas for the transmission.
