So last night I had a dream that was like being in an episode of black mirror.
ive had dreams where I was in the walking dead, the movie bird box, as well as similar renditions of ground hog day a black mirror episode. I’ve seen dreams similar to the hunger games, the giver, maze runner.
and pretty much every movie you can think of I’ve had a dream that occurs in that genre. Sci-fi. Alien UFOs. Space travel. Parallel universes. Inter dimensional beings. Nuclear bombs. Time travel. And other planets with human life. I watched the sun go out. I’ve had dreams of earth quakes, volcanoes, tsunami’s, tornadoes. Mind reading. Flying cars. And even having alternate selves. As well as more avant-grade metaphorical metaphysical weird shit like,
Ever expanding buildings that contain impossible oasis’ inside them.
Terrorist attacks, bombings, fires, plane crashes. Talking Sand storms. Animals. Yes, talking to animals. And meeting dead celebrities- or, alive ones. One time I had Pink Floyd explain the meaning behind the Album The Wall.
Ive had dreams that took place in the 1800s, the 60s, the 90s, and the year 3100. And even a few from biblical period, and some before that in the Dino days.
Ive been to Japan, India, Greece, Egypt Dubai snowy mountains and buildings higher than the clouds. I’ve been in the clouds before. Just chilling up there in the actual fucking sky.
Ive had dreams about going through mirrors. Of glasses that do more than just make you see when you put them on. And of people with gaping holes in their stomachs.
Ive met angels, demons, and twins holding hands (yes, like the shining.) And I went to hell. I have also met other strange spirit guides- one of whom looked like myself. Another, was more like floating orbs. And some are like the little flying balls in Harry Potter but more sentient.
Ive had dreams where I was in a witch coven, another, exposing a strange Illuminati ring of demonic monk like beings who wore cloaks and underneath them were nothing but shadow creatures, who devoured and tore people apart.
In many of my dreams I possess the ability to fly. I’ve had dreams where I have unnatural powers, like fire and water bending, or the ability to run through glass.
My favorite are when I am lucid.
Or when my brain invents something I’ve never seen before, like people with shining diamond eyes and hair made of pure metal and jewels.
Water is also a big theme in many of my dreams. Bodies of water.
For a while I had a streak of years that it was nothing but zombie dreams. That was beyond exhausting.
And of course the classic, someone’s going to murder me- chasing running, I have to kill the bad guy / elude the ba kind of stuff. Including mass shootings. Yeah. Quite a few of those. Kidnapping. Murderers. Cannibals.
And then on the other side of the coin Ive had dreams where I’m the one in prison. These can last years. Yeah. Several prison dreams. Also, mental hospital dreams.
There were other languages. My brain invents, lovers with bacj stories, families, children even of my own. And even, music. The dreams have music, I dream of music. A lot of them have their very own background tracks with relevant lyrics, but it’s not any song from the real world. My brain just made it up trying to communicate something to me.
So needless to say, my dream Arsenal at this point is very heavily equipped should I ever need material for a fictional story I have so much material to work with I couldn’t physically run out if I tried.
I can’t help it I just remember all of them with such vivid detail and experience them as if they were so real, that even the descriptions I give them in the morning when I try to write them down don’t suffice to truly immerse one in the depth of the experience. Each one takes its own novel to fully experiences as I did through words.
But succinctly I can at least give a synopsis.
Like one time I had a dream where there was this large building which no one could leave once you entered and you either were a working class slave for the system, or you were a rich fat beuruacrwt gorging on champagne and lobster bisque. But if you tried to escape you’d find out every time after many confused attempts that it was completely impossible, and the building itself was designed to keep you trapped there, adapting to your thoughts even.
Another one, there was this building across a river where all the wealthy people lived (in the future) and the poor all lived in these slum like cities in small box like apartments, across the way. And the rich end was called the east end. Everyday I made a commute from my job as a maid in the west end, across the river to the east end, and worked in the large building for strictly the elite. And in this building it was a seemingly infinite
I have dreams where you can’t think something or something bad will happen, so the entire dream is preoccupied with me just trying so hard to force my mind to stay on every subject possible, except the one thing we CANT think or we will all surely die.
And to top that one, another dream where I was given a tour of a mansion, in a group of many tourists. And, there was dead people inside the house, skeletons. It was extremely gruesome the visuals but I won’t go into details. As it’s honestly psychotic my brain even decided to show me something this horrific. The tour guide told the story of what happened to them. And then, what happened to them started happening to all of us. A song started to play, and if you try to leave, or think of anything but the song- you to try exercise free thought and free will. You will be killed, in a really horrible way. Your brain will essentially implode. And you’ll be left to rot as an example to the rest to threaten them into submission to the prevailing song- and the commands of the man who ruled our thoughts governed our actions. We still tried to out run it and chase freedom, by getting into a vehicle and driving as fast as we could away from this haunted place. And I watched as the person next to me got driven insane by the song taking over their mind and playing louder and louder until they couldn’t take it anymore. I was screaming trying to help them tune it out and to focus on my voice. But they couldn’t overpower it, and they died.
And lastly, the strange effects of infinite mirrors in front of each other- and, other strange effects like. The unfolding effect, frame within a frame within a frame... from an arial view. So I’m in one reality then the dream from an over head view zooms out and the dream I was in is now inside of a frame that is inside the second layer of dream. I enter the second layer through a mirror or a door or a frame etc, portals. And then the dream zooms out again, and it’s another dream within a frame- within a dream. Zooming out infinitely from an arial view... very... m.c Escher like... if you’ve ever seen his odd sketches of stairwells that make no sense. Repeating interlocking motifs.
Jve had dreams of giant holes in the floor that take you to hidden places
and of enchanted forests with strange spiders and beasts. Taking bites out of strange tropical fruits off of treees which I’ve never seen before. Hearing the sounds of the wild in the background, monkeys and, rain water dripping in. The Amazon. It was so real I felt the sweat on my skin from the humidity, and the fire thirst. The twigs breaking under my bare feet. I smelled the rich dirt which mushrooms spring up out of. Sometimes in these forest dreams the roots move.
Spiders is a big theme for me, I see a lot of those in all shapes and sizes. Yeah, even terrifyingly big and beastly ones. Like bears with claws that hook onto your body and don’t let go, with mouths... filled with teeth and horns designed to penetrate into your stomach. And sharp thorns on their feet. They make thumping sounds when they move swiftly across the floor faster than a Jaguar. I guess 8 legs makes you quicker. They’re not limited to just the floor either.
But also just the standard terrifying moments of spiders crawling all over you, big ones, small ones, prickly ones.
Another theme for me is alligators. I suppose I have a deep seated fear of them.
