A bunch of reddit shitposters created a movement to make Gamestop stocks very expensive by buying them all at once and made a shit ton of money meanwhile wall street elites lost 70 billion dollars because their short sell was thwarted. Pretty awesome what you can do when you weaponize the populism pf memetics.
What happened was Elon Musk Tweeted the link for the reddit page, then after that, GME blew up.
The people behind this aren't just a bunch of kids on reddit. They are professionals, very wealthy, and are connected somehow connected to Elon.
Did big firms really get rekt ? What an amature move to buy a chart that's clearly been manipulated. How does one expect GameStop to be so valuable under a pandemic to begin with ? It was clearly a bull trap.
mfw i made almost 10k from this
You ? I doubt it.
i will probably lose it by monday. but if i make fat stacks u have to shave ur neckbeard
Only way to turn a profit from this, is if you initially held the stock, or bought it in a small time frame before it went mainstream.
TD Ameritrade and the Robinhood platforms and some others suspended trading it until further notice.
The initial shorts are either out of it by now, or they are trapped like some others who are unable to sell it. Best thing for the seller is if the world keeps the wool over their eyes and FOMO into the stock, but really most investors will get rekt. I'm surprised it even made it this far. Surely money is still pouring into it.
This ordeal is kinda like putting a smelly cheese on a mousetrap, while there are still masses inquiring and investing for the first time without knowing anything about GameStop and how close to death that brand truly is.

How far along was the bandwagon before Elon tweeted that? Did he get the ball rolling, or was it already rolling? It's interesting to note that Elon Musk is a memetic character himself. Few rich people have been able to integrate into memetics and tap into its power quite like Elon Musk.

Unfortunately Gamestop is going the way of the malls that house it. It's pretty sad, I've always went to Gamestop as a kid and we went to shopping malls often. I always found the shopping mall to be a solid and comfortable experience.
